Zubeida Dasgupta is an AVIGuk accredited VIG practitioner and advanced supervisor, providing case work for families and within schools, nurseries and colleges. She also runs VIG training courses and supervises trainee practitioners from a range of professional backgrounds, including psychologists, social workers and psychotherapists, working within education, health and care. She has a keen interest in running VERP courses for professionals.
She originally qualified as an Educational Psychologist in 2005 and works with education settings, children and families. As part of her Educational Psychology work she facilitates mindfulness groups/classes to school aged children; school staff training on a range of topics including staff wellbeing; understanding and managing children’s attachment needs; understanding and managing children’s anxiety. She also runs staff reflective practice groups and provides supervision to school staff.
In 2016 she was asked by the BBC to provide 5 top parenting tips to help promote mental health and wellbeing in their children. She was also part of the team which evaluated the implementation of VIG in the NSPCC.
Rebecca qualified as a social worker in 1996, and has over twenty five years’ experience of working with children and families. She has worked independently since 2007 and has substantial experience helping families with risk and parenting issues. She is one of the UK’s leading experts in attachment and lectures in Attachment Studies at the University of Roehampton, teaching on the Masters and Postgraduate Certificate programmes. Alongside this specialist training, she frequently delivers generic attachment training to a social care audience alongside training on supervision, direct work with children, thresholds and court skills for social workers.
As an AVIGuk accredited VIG practitioner and supervisor, Rebecca offers case work for families, accreditation, training and supervision. As part of her VIG work, she also provides VERP courses for professionals.
